What’s on your grill?

What’s on your grill?

Is there anything that screams summer more than a barbeque?  It is funny, even though my husband, Marc, and I cook outside all year long, a summer cookout feels and tastes different to me in the warm weather, especially when we eat outside.    Our barbeque and our Big Green Egg smoker get a lot of action all season long.  For the most part hot dogs and hamburgers are not featured on the menu.    We use the grill to make omelets.

We have grilled eggplant on the grill, which we then placed inside the barbeque with sauce and mozzarella cheese concocting a light eggplant parmesan.  But, by far my favorite outdoor dish is when I make fresh pizza dough in a bread machine and then place on a pizza stone with cheese and sauce and smoke on the Big Green Egg.  It is amazing!

What is your favorite summer dish that you cook outside?

  1. I LOVE to make chicken and eggplant parm on the grill! I just cook it all up and put it in my little parm containers, close the lid and melt the cheese. Delish!
I also love to grill corn, potatoes, bread and then slather it with blue cheese – anything! I’m gonna try omelets, though – it sounds amazing!

    1. Brian – so does your buddy Alex… Friday night we smoked some chicken. Alex was jumping out of his fur trying to get some….

    1. Jennifer – our’s is attached to the gas line, so we never have that issue… but I have to admit I like the charcoal taste better – we end up using the smoker way more

    1. William – when ever my dad tried to BBQ we had Chinese food for dinner. It was like watching someone try to cook a steak over a cigarette

  2. I tried to comment on this post several times a couple of days ago. Making pizza is my favorite grilling activity. I forget whatever else wiseassery I wrote in the original comment, but I’m sure if was funny 🙂
