We are family….
My friend’s son is very allergic to cats, so when they come to the beach we try to keep him out of our house. However, like most children, he simply loves cats, and all he wants to do is see Alex.
.
“Where is Alex the cat?” he asked as he peered through the sliding glass, deck doors.
.
“I think he is sleeping,” I replied.
.
“No he’s not! I see him!!!” He said excitedly as he spotted Alex on sofa, looking directly at us. “He is such a cutie pie!” the little boy continued.
.
Alex tired of looking at us, and instead turned to face the front of the house where my husband, Marc was throwing out the garbage.
.
“What is Alex looking at now?” he asked.
.
“His daddy…”
.
“Who is his daddy,” he asked.
.
“Who do you think?”
.
Excitedly he replied, “Marc!”
.
“Yes, Marc is his dad.”
.
“Are you his mom?”
.
“Yes, I am his mom.”
.
“Hmm,” he relied as his face got all pensive and serious looking. “If you are the mom, and Marc is the dad, can I be Alex the cat’s Grandpa?”

We love the logic about your friend’s son being Alex’s grandpa – don’t children have the best logic!!
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Hannah and Lucy – absolutely! Kids really get it! They are too funny!
Makes PURRfect sense to us Cats!
Trish – Alex understood it purrfectly too!
HA…. Kids are funny!
Christina – I know… this story reminds me of that old Bill Cosby show kids say the darnest things…
Definitely. I am Skyes mommy and my husband is her daddy.
Debby – I know.. when I lived at home and we had a dog, she was my mom’s other daughter, and I was her sister 🙂
That is too cute. Love kids and animals. The animals love kids especially. Great picture of Alex. Have yourselves a great week end.
Marg – I know.. aren’t kids and animals the cutest. Kids love Alex. However, he only loves kids from a distance… My dog on the other hand, loved kids, especially babies. She was so cute….
LOL! That’s just so cute. Maybe he could be a cousin, though. 😛
Fuzzy Tales – a cousin probably would have been a better idea 🙂
AHAHAHA! That’s hilarious! I love it! 🙂
Stacy – thanks… I crack up everytime I replay this chat in my head 🙂
That’s cute. Sounds like Alex made a new friend.
Your pal, Pip
Pip – Alex sure did… well, if not a friend, an admirer.. 🙂
Awwwwww beautiful Alex has a wonderful family – now he has a grandpa too!!! Your friend’s son is just lovely! Take care
x
Old Kitty – thank you so much… the little boy is the cutest… Alex is just hoping this new grandpa brings him treats 🙂
How how cute. He’s got it right, though! LOL
Amber – don’t kids just crack you up? They just “get it!”
cute!
Caren – got to love both the boy & the cat…
And how did you respond to that? 🙂
Sandra – I was pretty speachless….. I think I mustered an “OK” then I ran to tell Marc and his mom!
MOL that’s a good one!!
The Florida Furkids and Angel Sniffie
FL Furkids – kids and pets… always good for a laugh or 2…
Cutest. thing. ever. 🙂
I just love the stuff kids say. Today I told my kids they were going to get a special treat – we were going to the library to check out new books and movies. To which my son replied, “I can’t eat that!” lol
Holly – love it! your son sounds like a hoot!
Hey, aren’t Grandpa’s supposed to bring gifts?!?!
Brian – you and Alex so think the same way… That was the first question he asked me when I told him this story….
Aw, that’s so adorable! I was very allergic to cats as a child, too, but have outgrown it as an adult (and thank goodness, because we have two of our own and volunteer every week at the animal shelter). It’s funny how the kids who are the most allergic to cats always seem to love them so very much.
Meowmeowmans… I know.. I was that allergic child, and all I wanted was a dog. Finally, in my 20’s we got one, a bichon, and I was allergic to her too. But, despite allergies, I love animals too much to ever be without a pet….hopefully, one day I will grow out of them too
Cam I be his long lost cousin?
Auntie Dawn it is!
Alex you are simply irresistible!
Such a cute story.
