Sticks and stones

The beach was pretty much empty.  Besides me, there were a couple of ladies with several kids hanging out by the shoreline.  These kids just finished having a surfing lesson.  One of the kids was a girl of about ten.  She abandoned her surfboard by the shoreline, and was heading into the ocean to frolic and play.  Her mother called her name, trying to get her attention.  The girl didn’t hear. . Time really does fly. I can’t believe it has been almost two months since we had to have Alex, our cat’s, tail amputated. It seems that since then time has flown by in a complete blur.
